Between chaos and order

I work with paintings. In the last years water-colours have been my project. The technique is very direct. This opens up possibilities both for the beauty and the beast. It is the balance between the strictly controlled and the floatingly dissolved that makes the technique interesting. The white is the paper and the dark areas are being built up through many transparent layers. It is a kind of development process - from light to dark. Thematically the pictures deals with incidents described from a certain distance. A glimpse of something passing by, sticks in the memory like snapshots – are being shaped by time, strengthened or erased. An undertone of anxiety, something we don’t quite know the consequences of, lingers on.
The light is an important part of the motive.
And the chair is a common item. I see it as a metaphor of the place you have got in life. Sometimes we have to tidy up the room - decisions are made and the chairs are being put in place. But they don’t always stay where you put them…
